A New Window on the World
So, I broke down and bought a new digital camera. The battery in my old one was on the fritz and after several sleepless nights brought on my an overwhelming amount of specifications, models, colors, companies, yada-yada to consider, I did it.
So here are some images that I managed to take:
This next picture I took while standing waiting for the el this morning at 8:30 in subzero temperatures. Confession...I didn't take it in black and white but honestly, I was unimpressed by the color version so I switched in in "editing." I like the sharpness of the images although I'm disappointed b/c I had a much cooler shot about 2 seconds earlier when the three people on the right of center were lined up perfectly diagnonally...parallel to the roof of the station. That was the one I wanted, but alas, I had to settle for this one. Next time, right.
So there it is. All in all, I'm pretty impressed with the quality of the camera for my purposes. Now it's just a matter of leafing through all of the menus to see what it can really do.
More amateur, possibly-pedestrian-but-makes-me-happy photography to come.
